Lifspel creates a unique space where human creativity and AI collaborate to tell stories. This page explains how copyright applies to different types of content in our platform.

1. Your Creative Contributions

1.1 Scenarios You Create

When you create a scenario in Lifspel, you own the original creative elements you contribute:

Character names and descriptions you write
Settings and world-building you design
Premise and story concepts you develop
Dialogue and narrative elements you author

You grant Lifspel a license to store, display, and enable others to play your published scenarios.

1.2 Your Story Inputs

The choices you make, dialogue you write, and actions you take during gameplay are your creative expression.

2. AI-Generated Content

2.1 Collaborative Creation

Story content in Lifspel emerges from collaboration between you and our AI. The AI generates narrative prose, character responses, and story developments based on your inputs and choices.

2.2 Usage Rights

You may use AI-generated story content from your sessions for:

Personal enjoyment and reference
Sharing excerpts with friends
Inspiration for your own creative works

For commercial use of substantial AI-generated content, please contact us to discuss licensing.

2.3 No Exclusive Ownership

Because AI-generated content may produce similar outputs for different users given similar inputs, neither you nor Lifspel can claim exclusive copyright over AI-generated narrative text.

3. Lifspel's Intellectual Property

3.1 System Scenarios

Scenarios provided by Lifspel ("System Scenarios") are our intellectual property. This includes:

Character designs and backstories
World-building and settings
Story premises and narrative frameworks

You may play System Scenarios but may not copy, distribute, or create derivative works from them.

3.2 Platform and Technology

The Lifspel platform—including our code, design, user interface, and underlying technology—is protected by copyright and other intellectual property rights.

3.3 Trademarks

"Lifspel," "Storyplay Engine," and associated logos are trademarks of Resource Forge LLC.

4. User-Generated Scenarios

When you publish a scenario for others to play:

You retain copyright in your original creative elements
You grant other users the right to play your scenario
You grant Lifspel rights to host, display, and promote your scenario
You represent that your scenario doesn't infringe others' copyrights

5. Copyright Infringement

We respect intellectual property rights. If you believe content on Lifspel infringes your copyright, please contact us with:

Identification of the copyrighted work
Identification of the infringing material
Your contact information
A statement of good faith belief that the use is not authorized
A statement that your notification is accurate
